MANANJARY - ANALANOLONA OR SIMILAR
Departing from Mananjary, we start the cruise on a comfortable wooden boat. A passage through the mouth with the return of the fishermen. History of the river port before departure;
On the canal, we pass convoys of boats and small rustic boats loaded with people and products.
First stop at the village of Ampandomana, cross the village to immerse yourself in the lifestyles of the Antaimbahaoka ethnic group "those of the people".
Traditional lunch meal on board.
In the afternoon, visit the village of Ambohitsara, to visit the white elephant , a statue carved in chloritoschist stone, which would have been brought by the Ancestors of Mecca in the 12th century, and which until our days remains a sacred monument for the inhabitants.
At the end of the afternoon, arrival in Analanolona, overnight in bivouac or bungalow.
ALANOLONA - ANTSOHIHY
Continuation of the cruise on the Pangalanes Canal.
We start our cruise to NOSY VARIKA, a city famous for its coffee and vanilla crops. Visit of the typical market and colorful stalls.
Continue north to Analampotsy for a pleasant swim in the canal through the Betsimisaraka traps.
Stop in a Betsimisaraka village of Masomeloka. And visit the village, a large transit village for passengers and products.
The canal continues its route between the sand dunes and its bed is sometimes heavily silted up and blocked by water hyacinths. Navigation is difficult.
At the end of the afternoon, arrival in Antsohihy, between the Indian Ocean and the Pangalanes canal, overnight in bivouac or bungalow
ANTSOHIHY - MAHANORO
After breakfast, we slowly depart for our last destination, Mahanoro.
Crossing the part of the coastal forest. Bird lovers will be able to observe
birds of prey and kingfishers who inhabit the canal bushes,
botanists will appreciate the "pandanus", "ravinala" and "alocasias"
which line the banks and invade the canal, not to mention the hyacinths and water lilies.
A few kilometers from MAHANORO, we cross the mouth of the MANGORO river. Visit a very interesting cash crop plantation. Lunch on board before arriving at our destination.
